In Xerox Workplace Suite, an API restricted to specific hosts can be bypassed by manipulating the Host header. If the server improperly validates or trusts the Host header without verifying the actual destination, an attacker can forge a value to gain unauthorized access. This exploit targets improper host validation, potentially exposing sensitive API endpoints.

Multiple MFPs (multifunction printers) provided by FUJIFILM Business Innovation Corp. and Xerox Corporation provide a facility to export the contents of their Address Book with encrypted form, but the encryption strength is insufficient. With the knowledge of the encryption process and the encryption key, the information such as the server credentials may be obtained from the exported Address Book data. A risky-algorithm issue was discovered on Fujifilm DocuCentre-VI C4471 1.8 devices. An attacker that obtained access to the administrative web interface of a printer (e.g., by using the default credentials) can download the address book file, which contains the list of users (domain users, FTP users, etc.) stored on the printer, together with their encrypted passwords. The passwords are protected by a weak cipher, such as ROT13, which requires minimal effort to instantly retrieve the original password, giving the attacker a list of valid domain or FTP usernames and passwords.

Certain Xerox WorkCentre printers before 073.xxx.000.02300 do not require the user to reenter or validate LDAP bind credentials when changing the LDAP connector IP address. A malicious actor who gains access to affected devices (e.g., by using default credentials) can change the LDAP connection IP address to a system owned by the actor without knowledge of the LDAP bind credentials. After changing the LDAP connection IP address, subsequent authentication attempts will result in the printer sending plaintext LDAP (Active Directory) credentials to the actor. Although the credentials may belong to a non-privileged user, organizations frequently use privileged service accounts to bind to Active Directory. The attacker gains a foothold on the Active Directory domain at a minimum, and may use the credentials to take over control of the Active Directory domain. This affects 3655*, 3655i*, 58XX*, 58XXi*, 59XX*, 59XXi*, 6655**, 6655i**, 72XX*, 72XXi*, 78XX**, 78XXi**, 7970**, 7970i**, EC7836**, and EC7856** devices.
